12-year-old raped at Jhansi railway station

JHANSI: A minor girl was allegedly raped in a vacant coach at the outer section of Jhansi railway station on Friday morning. Police have arrested the accused. The incident took place when a family of four, including two minor girls, boarded a passenger train for Mauranipur at platform no 6 at 5am and were waiting for its departure which was scheduled for 7.00 am.
AS the girl went to public toilet, a man threatened and abducted her. The accused, Deshraj, took her to an abandoned compartment and raped her and fled. The girl somehow managed to reach to her parents and narrated the incident. Her father went to the GRP station and lodged a complaint. Acting swiftly, railway police made an intensive search and caught Deshraj, while the girl was sent for medical examination. Police said, “We have arrested the accused and have lodged a case against him under section 376 of IPC and section 3 of POSCO.”
