Locals took Deepti for a Russian actress

Locals took Deepti for a Russian actress
The shoot of Lal Jose’s Nee-Na started off in Russia. The crew shot in the extreme cold for five days before shifting location to Kochi.
The director had visited the locations, Moscow and St Petersburg, earlier, during his world tour with friends, in an SUV. “But I had visited the cities during summer. The winter was another story altogether. The temperatures fell to -6 and -10 degrees, and it was a new experience for all of us.
But luckily, we could make good use of the snowfall,” he says.
Interestingly, since the crew wore warm clothes like everyone else, the locals did not realize it was the shoot of an Indian film. “They even thought Deepti was a Russian actress, and some of them got very friendly with her, especially elderly people in the park, nearby,” recalls Lal Jose.
Deepti Sati plays the lead role in the film. The team is currently shooting in Kochi, with Ann Augustine and Vijay Babu, the other two major characters.
