Lymphoma Research Foundation Returns to Miami Beach For Exclusive Swirl Wine Tasting Event
Miami Beach, Florida (PRWEB) February 27, 2015 -- The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – is continuing to make its presence known in the South Florida community, returning to the greater Miami area to host Swirl, A Wine Tasting Event at the La Gorce Country Club in Miami Beach on Thursday, March 26, 2015. This year’s wine selection has once again been made available through the generosity of Southern Wine and Spirits of America, Inc., enabling all fundraising proceeds to go directly to the life-changing research and support programs sustained by LRF.
“The first Swirl event was incredibly inspiring to us as a committee,” said Leigh Olson, LRF Board member and event co-chair. “Now that we’ve seen what a tremendous impact we can have on the lymphoma community through events like Swirl, we hope to utilize this year’s wine tasting to raise awareness of lymphoma on an even greater scale and generate the critical funds needed to combat the disease.”
Each year, more than 5,000 Floridians are diagnosed with lymphoma – the most common form of blood cancer. The inaugural Swirl event marked the first-ever inroad in the Miami area, raising critical funds in support of the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by the disease.
"Southern Wine & Spirits of America is proud to partner with LRF and serve as the official Wine Sponsor of the 2015 Swirl event,” said Kevin Fennessey, Executive Vice President, Commercial Strategy at Southern Wine & Spirits of America. “We are looking forward to providing a variety of world class wines, many recognized as the number one wine in the world in previous years."
“Swirl, A Wine Tasting Event is an incredible event for the Lymphoma Research Foundation, as well as for the lymphoma community in Florida,” said Meghan Gutierrez, LRF Chief Executive Officer. “Through events like Swirl, the Foundation is able to not only raise awareness of this disease but also raise critical funds to support our mission; we are proud to partner with Southern Wine and Spirits and are grateful for the dedication of the event committee who work tirelessly to make this event such an enormous success.”
Walter Andrews, Debbie & Kevin Fennessey, Barbara & Jerry Freundlich, Leigh & Cory Olson, Florence & Robert Werner will serve as this year’s host committee. For more information about Swirl and/or to purchase tickets, please contact Taylor Zitay Kahn at 646-465-9103 or visit lymphoma.org/swirl.
