KARACHI: Olympian Khurram Inam won double gold in the 24th National Shooting Championship at the Army Shooting Range in Jhelum on Wednesday.

Khurram who has been dominating Pakistan’s skeet shooting for over a decade won the individual and team gold to steal the limelight, according to information received here from the Sindh Rifle Association on Thursday.

Ace sharp shooter Khurram who had featured in 2000, 2004 and 2012 Olympics fired the rounds of 23, 25, 23 on the first day and added 22 and 17 on the second day to finish with a total of 110/125.

In the finals, Khurram who is also South Asian Championship record- holder fired two rounds of 13 each to end with a total of 136/157.

Khurram arch-rival Ahmed Sultan grabbed the silver with a total of 132/157 while Usman Chand of Punjab took the bronze.

Sindh trio of Ahmed Sultan, Shakeel Babar and Khurram also won the team skeet gold with the province also winning two silver medals in trap event besides two gold and silver medals.

Usman Sadiq won the individual silver while Major Aamir took the gold with Col Fakhar claiming the bronze before Usman Sadiq, Shahzad Abdullah and Shakeel took the trap team silver for Sindh.

Pakistan Army shooters leading the championship with Navy being placed at second spot and Sindh third with two gold and three silver medals.
