While the shooting of the movie is under way at Ramoji Film City, Akhil’s brother Naga Chaitanya might get that one elusive solo hit he has been waiting for.
The sleek stills of his latest starrer Dochey has been grabbing attention. The flick is being directed by Swamy..ra..ra.. fame Sudheer Verma, who was widely appreciated for his work. The ‘yuvasamrat’ is not far behind. His bilingual with Tamil actor Karthi is touted to be the biggest multi-starrer this year. Debuting as a director and DoP!
He worked behind the camera as Director of Photography in ‘Prema, Ishq, Kadal’ and ‘Karthikeya’ and his work attracted attention. But now, with ‘Surya Vs Surya’ that is all set to release in a week, he is debuting as director, which still making his cam work.
That’s Karthik Ghattamaneni, whose debut as director is about a subject, the hero (played by Nikhil) suffers from a disorder called ‘Porpheria’ that only vampires are normally known to get.
Having made enough research not to go wrong, he said that this happens due to the lack of a haemoglobin-producing enzyme that means the affected people get severely-burnt if they stand for more than 15 minutes under the Sun. If you are wondering what this could mean to the director who also doubles up behind the camera, it simply translates into the fact that he cannot take any of the usual shots under harsh daylight ?
“So I made my hero a man who explores nightlife in the City of Pearls, not your regular meaning, but only that he prefers going to locations that most people do not, giving the scene an eerie feel,” this modest youngster says, adding with good-natured humour that his camera actually made the hero to look like a mini-vampire. “This is a challenging role for an actor like Nikhil who strives to don different roles,” Karthik says, signing off.
