Canadian Stage and Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) announced that a special French performance of audience favourite, Kiss & Cry will be presented on Feb. 5, 2016 at the Bluma Appel Theatre (27 Front St. E). The performance is part of Kiss & Cry's limited 4-show run (Feb. 4 to 7, 2016) in Canadian Stage's 2015.16 season, and will feature English subtitles. All other performances will be presented in English.

First staged in Toronto as part of Canadian Stage's 2014.15 season, this innovative work by choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey and filmmaker Jaco Van Dormael surprised audiences with its intricate mix of film, theatre and dance all wrapped within a magical miniature world.

"Kiss & Cry is a marvel of modern technology with a very human touch that transports you into a whimsical world through a story of love and loss." said Matthew Jocelyn, artistic & general director, Canadian Stage. "We are very thankful to our friends at TfT for partnering with us to bring Kiss & Cry to Toronto audiences in its native tongue for the first time."

This special French language presentation of Kiss & Cry is also the first time Canadian Stage and TfT - long-time neighbours at the Berkeley Street Theatre - will collaborate together on a project.

"How absolutely wonderful and fitting that the first collaboration between our two companies involves such a poetic and visionary show," said Guy Mignault artistic director, TfT. "We happily seal it with a kiss!"

Le moment s'est présenté. L'occasion était trop belle pour être ignorée. Et voici alors une collaboration d'une telle limpidité, d'un tel naturel, que je me suis dit tout de suite : voici le début d'une belle amitié. »

Kiss & Cry will be on stage at the Bluma Appel Theatre (27 Front St. E) from Feb. 4 to 7, 2016. The French language presentation will be on stage Feb. 5. Tickets from $30 to $99 will be on sale starting Mar. 9, 2015. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone at 416.368.3110 or in person at the box office. For details visit canadianstage.com.
