Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for Waterloo Region and much of southern Ontario.
Wind chills are expected to get to between -30 and -35 overnight and into Friday morning.
The weather agency says a frigid Arctic airmass will mix with light to moderate winds.
“Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.”
