The 7th Annual Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF) will kick-start on Friday, February 27, at Goethe-Institute/Max Mueller Bhavan on CMH Road, Indira Nagar.

Since its inception, BQFF has tried to show films on themes related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and other communities that fall outside the heterosexual norm.

Speaking to iamin, Joshua Muyiwa, member, BAQF said, “The festival will feature nearly 55 films from 22 countries. BAQF brings you crazy-racy-sweet-sweaty short films, blurry-touching-insightful documentaries, funny-cutting-fantastical stop motion animation, and extravagant-experimental feature-length films from France, Belgium, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Australia, Iran, Slovania, Russia, India, Germany.

Muyiwa added that there will be films from Finland, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, USA, UK, Portugal, Spain, Myanmar, Fiji, Taiwan and China.

The three-day festival is committed to the circulation of good queer cinema, including films from non-Western locations, films by independent film-makers, popular cinema that experiments with LGBT themes, and experimental films that push aesthetic limits.

PERFORMANCES AND EXHIBITION

Besides the not-to-miss films, BQFF 2015 is also showcasing queer performances and a photo exhibition. The performances will be held on Saturday and Sunday evening (28th and 1st) at the Alliance Française de Bangalore.
