Reasons why you should date an older woman

Taboo no more?
For men - the idea of being with an older woman, whether it remains a mere lust-worthy fantasy as a teen, or one that turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy – is akin to a badge of honour or a rite of passage, but that’s just a part of it.
Another important reason is because of the “life experiences and maturity that comes with it,” says Arjun, an architect, who’s dated a woman 8 years older to him, and what he found immensely attractive.
Gone are the days where conventional wisdom dictated that a man be older to a woman. With changing times, and economic and social growth, it is no longer considered taboo. Similarly, women past their 20s have clearly put their behenji days behind them unlike earlier, and are giving younger ladies a run for their money. Being wooed by a younger man, is a powerful aphrodisiac, apart from the meeting of minds for older women. 40-year-old airline executive Miriam who’s been in a relationship with a younger man for the last 5 years says, “Our like-mindedness, level of understanding and our commitment to each other mattered more to us than our 7-year age gap."
Fortune favours the (b)old:
Being an older woman comes with a fantastic set of perks. Here’s why: Dial ‘C’ for Confidence: An older woman’s greatest advantage is the confidence she oozes which is a tremendous turn on for younger men. Says Rohan who dated an older woman during his college days, “I was impressed by how driven she was. She had very clear goals for her life and career than I did - or most girls my age had. ” A woman in her 30s, 40s and 50s is far more self-assured than she was in her 20s. She knows what she wants, and isn’t afraid to ask for it – be it between the sheets or otherwise. “She was sexually more expressive, and I felt that there was a clear distinction between sex and love - which again, a lot of younger girls seem to confuse,” he adds.

Miss Independent:
Nothing is more off-putting than someone who constantly needs and demands attention. Having come into her own – financially and emotionally – an older woman is happy doing her own thing sans drama. Now, who doesn’t love that?
Spontaneous Sam:
What could be more exciting than a bout of spontaneity during what is an otherwise staid routine? From simple on-the-spot movie plans to grander gestures like surprise weekend getaways, dating a younger man guarantees a healthy dose of spontaneity, and the unexpected. Miriam says, “I loved that he would send me flowers for no particular reason.”
Attentive & caring:
Another turn-on being the older one in the relationship, is how respectful, attentive and generous a younger man is. “He would always open doors for me, or would be game to ramble through the shopping malls,” adds Miriam.
As long as the lines of communications between both parties are open and honest, that nature of this relationship is likely to surprise the both of you’ll as it takes its natural course.
