Two-time MLC K.S Lakshmana Rao who is seeking a third tenure representing the Guntur-Krishna Teacher Constituency filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. Mr. Rao submitted the papers to Revenue Divisional Officer K. Naga Babu at the Collector’s chambers, after reaching the office in a colourful procession.
Mr. Rao is backed by various teacher associations, especially United Teachers Federation (UTF). He is locked in a triangular fight with TDP supported A.S Ramakrishna and Tadi Sakuntala, supported by BC/SC organisations. MLCs belonging to PDF Balasubramaniyam, Geyanand, Boddu Nageswara Rao were also present and lent moral support to Mr. Rao. Mr. Rao joined Hindu College as a professor and after serving for 30 years, quit the job and jumped in the fray for MLC elections in 2007.
