Fervour marks Raghavendra Jayanti

The birth anniversary of 16th century saint, Guru Raghavendra Swamy, was celebrated with devotional fervour at Brindavan here on Wednesday.

Devotee thronged the temple of Vaishnavite saint Sri Raghavendra Swamy, who had popularised the Dvaita philosophy of Madvacharya, to witness the ‘Go Ksheerabhishekam’, ‘Panchamratasnanam’ and special puja performed with tulsi (basil leaves) to the spiritual guru as also Veeranjanaya Swamy and Bakhta Prahalada. ‘Vishnu Sahasranamam’ was recited en masse by the devotees who decorated the temple with flowers. Hanuman Chalisa was recited with reverence. A Satsang was organised on the occasion by temple committee president Chintapalli Gopichand and secretary M. Venkata Subbaiah.
