Music varsity should back research work: K. Rosaiah

Tamil Nadu Governor ask music college to ensure the richness of our music is passed to generations

Chennai: TN Governor K. Rosaiah has called upon the Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University to come forward and support more research work besides ensure the richness of our music and fine arts is passed on to generations to come. “The faculty should see that all the upcoming musicians work hard on the essentials of good music.

The young budding musicians should have originality and refrain from imitations,” he said after presenting Jayam award to Veena Vidushi Ranganayaki Rajagopalan during the valedictory of Jayam- 2015’ – Ensemble of Arts, organised by the TN Music and Fine Arts University, on Wednesday evening.

“Art is an expression. It is creativity and a true revelation of thinking and observation. The thoughts which crisscross the mind and the beauty of nature comes on the canvas. Whether it is music, dance, drama or painting or any other art form it is the deep involvement and a flair to learn with a devotion that will help one to become a renowned artist,” Mr Rosaiah said.
