Court orders FIR against cops in fake encounter

Chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Sunil Kumar Yadav on Thursday directed the Kakori police to register FIR against 12 cops in the alleged fake encounter of a retired soldier in 2008. The cops against whom FIR has to be lodged are then SO Sarojninagar, Sadhu Ram and SO Manak Nagar Alam Ansari, sub-inspectors Amit Tomar and Sachin Kumar, and constables Haroon, Ashok Kumar, Kamlesh Bahadur Singh, Jitendra, KP Singh, Sunil Bishnoi, Shiv Sagar Tiwari and Harish Chandra.

Manju Devi, the wife of the deceased, had moved an application alleging that the cops had killed her husband, Jageshwar alias Fauji in a fake encounter on October 10, 2008 in Kakori.
Court reserves verdict in Aashiana case:
Lucknow: Judge of Fast Track court Rajendra Singh (Fourth) reserved his verdict on the appeal of Gaurav Shukla, the prime accused in 10-year old Ashiana gang rape case. The accused had preferred the appeal against the order passed by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on March 21, 2014, declaring the accused a major at the time of commission of the offence in 2005.
The JJB had sent the file of the case to the sessions court for trial the proceedings remained held up till date due to filing of the appeal. The court will pronounce the order on March 11 next.
