Week’s top sales includes Harold Zook-designed home in Pasadena

A pedigreed Midcentury Modern home in Pasadena, a glassy Nichols Canyon contemporary and a Westside residence offered for the first time in decades were among the top sales in the greater Los Angeles area last week.

$13.77 million, Brentwood

This 10,300-square-foot residence in Brentwood Park entered contract after one week on the market and sold for slightly less than the asking price. The Traditional-style home, designed by Steve Giannetti Architects and built by Paul Morrow Construction, counts a music room, a spa room, a temperature-controlled wine cellar and an elevator among its amenities. A flat lot of about half an acre contains a long pool, an outdoor kitchen and a covered patio with a fireplace. James Brunner of Gibson International had the listing. David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the selling agent.

$6.3 million, Pasadena

The Midcentury Modern home by noted architect Harold Zook incorporates mahogany and bouquet canyon stone into the open-space design. Formal spaces with floor-to-ceiling walls of glass take in 1.56-acre grounds containing a Japanese garden, a pool and a north-south tennis court. Catherine Cheney of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was the listing agent.

$5.595 million, Little Holmby

This 1930s Traditional, on a half acre in the Little Holmby area, listed for sale for the first time in 40 years and sold for the asking price. Designed by Allen Siple, the 5,947-square-foot home is highlighted by formal and junior dining rooms and a family room with a built-in wet bar and office area. A pool, outdoor kitchen and bath house complete the half-acre setting. Joyce Rey and Stacy Gottula of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage had the listing. Lynn Rogo and Mark K. Rogo, also of Coldwell Banker, represented the buyer.

$5 million, Arcadia

A grand foyer with marble-inlay flooring and a spiral staircase marks the entrance of this Santa Barbara-style home, designed by Robert Tong and built by Tipping Development last year. A home theater, a great room with a wet bar and a library are among the amenities. An elevator services both floors. Robert Ho of Long Dragon Realty Group was the listing agent. Yi Zhang of Treeline Realty & Investment was the selling agent.

$5 million, Beverly Hills

Marketed as a prime development opportunity, the Trousdale Estates property features a flat lot of more than half an acre, a large motor court and a pool. The existing home, a single-story Midcentury design, has three bedrooms and four bathrooms in 4,182 square feet. Josh Flagg of Rodeo Realty, Beverly Hills, handled the listing. Tori Barnao and Gersh Gershunoff of Douglas Elliman were the selling agents.

$4.75 million, Thousand Oaks

This Cape Cod-inspired Traditional backs the 16th hole of the Sherwood Country Club with golf course and mountain views. The 7,241 square feet of living space includes large formal spaces, a country-style chef’s kitchen and a great room. Grounds of more than a third of an acre contain a pool and spa and a detached guesthouse with a home theater. Nicole Van Parys and Gary Dean Nesen of Engel & Voelkers handled both sides of the transaction.

$4.2 million, Hollywood Hills West

Walls of floor-to-ceiling glass capture sprawling views at this Nichols Canyon contemporary designed by Steven Kent. A double-height living room/dining room clad in dark maple flooring anchors the open-space floor plan. Aaron Kirman of John Aaroe Group and Penny Negrin of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties handled the listing. Erica Reams of John Aaroe Group represented the buyer.
