Thane: The increasing number of schools in the city, be it state board, central board or private school, and the numerous facilities they provide, brings out the analyst in every parent during the admission season.
An all inclusive curriculum that balances its focus on academics as well as extra curricular activities is the ideal school choice according to most parents in
the city.

A few parents across the city prefer CBSE or ICSE boards to SSC boards to ensure an all-round education for their wards.
Vidula Kadhe, a 29-year-old Naupada resident, is one such parent who is looking to admit her daughter in a CBSE school. “I went to an SSC school and we didn’t have any focus on sports and arts. We studied only to clear exams. The CBSE curriculum gives equal emphasis on both academics and extra-curricular activities. This boosts their individuality. A balanced learning is essential to succeed in today’s rat-race,” she said.

Ruben Kulkarni (34), a Hiranandani Estate resident said, “My daughter is almost four now. I want to put her in a school close to home because of the number of tragic incidents we see today. Since both my wife and I are working individuals, we cannot pick up and drop off our child at a school faraway.”
For other parents, personal experience is another factor in the admission processes of their children.
Jimmy Pauly (42), a Chandanwadi resident, is queuing up in school admission lines for his third child this year. He hopes his third child gets into the same schools as his first and second child.
“The most important reason for my children to be educated by the same school, is so that there is no psychological difference in their way of thinking. Every school teaches in a different technique and groom their students in a particular way. If all my children don’t get the same training, there may be a sense of competition, conflict or may be even jealousy between them,” said Pauly.
