‘The Legend of Zelda’ gets an orchestral treatment at the Venetian in June
Gaming and the symphony come together when Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda” concert series makes a stop in Las Vegas in June.
The “Master Quest” show celebrates the 28-year-old video game franchise with the Las Vegas Philharmonic performing music from “The Legend of Zelda,” the Japanese action game. Videos from the series play as well.
The concert series tours the United States, Asia and Europe this year. It comes to the Venetian Theatre on Wednesday, June 10.
“Game music, especially game music as iconic as ‘Zelda,’ is wonderful because no matter what language or country, it’s familiar for everyone to enjoy,” says Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt in a press statement.
The show in four acts takes fans through the key chapters of the game, retold in a musical format. Even the latest game in the series, “The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds” for Nintendo 3DS, makes an appearance.
As a bonus, the Las Vegas concert will be taped for a national music special airing later on public television and AXS TV.
