INDORE: Indore bench of
Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday issued notices to the state government and
Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) during hearing on a petition demanding cancellation of 2012 state public service commission examination over paper leak. MPPSC and state government has also been asked to furnish reply within four weeks.
Some students, who failed to qualify for the exams, had moved court stating that the MPPSC had cancelled exam conducted for filling
Ayurved Medical Officer posts after paper leak but the commission didn't cancel PSC-2012.
After cracking prelims and subsequently mains, around 1660 candidates had qualified for the interview round of PSC- 2012. MPPSC was to conduct interviews from July 30, 2014.
But in the first week of July, 2013, a gang involved in paper leak case was busted in Delhi and its members admitted to have leaked paper of MPPSC- 2012 as well. Following the news, the MPPSC suspended the interviews.
STF conducting probe into the matter confirmed about the paper leak but MPPSC is still undecided over cancellation of the examination.
Counsellor for petitioners, Pushyamitra Bhargava said that the MPPSC was deferring decision on cancelation of the examination for no reason. "When the STF probe has confirmed that the paper of PSC-2012 was leaked, it is beyond comprehension why MPPSC is not cancelling the exam."
