Starting as a weather girl, she went on to win recognition and accolades as the host of one of the most popular health shows of Telugu television. Such is the popularity and association with the show that Renu Sree has sort of become synonymous with Sukhibhava .

Not surprising, given the fact Renu Sree has been anchoring the health show Sukhibhava on ETV2 for almost eight years and hosted more than 2,000 episodes of the programme. “There have been couple of occasions when complete strangers cornered me on the street and started discussing their health-related issues and sought tips from me,” she laughs.

In a long career that spans almost 16 years, the anchor handled a host of shows with wide and varied themes, but the health show fetched her most of the popularity.

During her school and college days itself, Renu Sree was active with cultural activities and also won debating contests. Those experiences came to her aid when she participated in ETV selections and won her way out despite stiff contest.

“Initially, I was selected to present weather reports at the end of news bulletins. Then I was given independent shows such as Cine Ranjani and Manoranjani ,” she recalls. While anchoring, she also lent her voice for serials and that ended up with her dubbing for movies too. “So far, I have given voice for more than 300 movies, including for films such as Pokiri and Itlu Sravani Subramanyam ,” points out Renu Sree.

While most shows figuring in her portfolio have been with ETV, she anchored for others channels too including Ishta Daivam on Bhakti TV, Pragatipatham on Doordarshan and Box Office on Maa TV to quote a few. A brief foray on silver screen had Renu Sree doing roles in movies like Kante Koothurne Kanali , but the big screen did not really succeed in casting a spell on her.
