Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader M.V. Jayarajan was accorded reception by party workers at the Kannur railway station here on Tuesday on his arrival after his release from the Central Prison at Poojappura in Thiruvananthapuram following his sentencing in a contempt of court case.

On his intention

Mr. Jayarajan in his address to party workers, who came to receive him, said that he would not be browbeaten by the jail sentence.

He said he would continue to criticise the judiciary.

He also said that whatever he said about the judiciary was motivated by the good intention to correct the system.

The CPI(M) leader had been release from jail on February 20 on completing the four-week jail sentence following a Supreme Court verdict upholding a High Court judgement on his conviction in the contempt of court case against him for using unparliamentary words against a High Court judge for banning roadside public meetings.
