Suicide attempt in police station

Shaji, 45, a resident of Poundukadavu, attempted suicide by hanging inside the bathroom at the Thumpa police station on Tuesday. According to the police, Shaji along with Noushad, who is also from Poundukadavu, was arrested on Monday night in connection with a theft case. A policeman took Shaji to the toilet on Tuesday morning. When he failed to come out, the police broke open the door and found him hanging from the wooden roof of the toilet. He was immediately rushed to the MCH where he is undergoing treatment.
