“Many critics have said that Telangana State cannot survive for more than six months and alleged that Telangana leaders were not capable of ruling the State. Thankfully, they were all proved wrong under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao,” said Deputy Chief Minister Mohd. Mehmood Ali.

He stated that the Telangana State was getting accolades for its progress on different areas within a short period of its achieving statehood and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a special word of praise for the State.

The Deputy Chief Minister was participating as the chief guest at the inaugural of the Urdu Festival-2015 at the Telangana University, on Tuesday.

“The State government headed by KCR has been taking unprecedented initiatives in various fields. The law and order is at its best and the State is successful in creating a conducive atmosphere for the investors to invest,” he added.

Mr. Mehmood Ali stated that many States were emulating the schemes introduced by the TRS government and it strongly believes in discrimination against none and welfare for all. Referring to the plight of the Muslims, he said that the Sachar Committee had pointed out that conditions of the Muslims in the country were worse than the Dalits.

“It was high time that some concerted measures to be initiated for an all-round development of the Muslims,” he explained and emphasised the importance of promoting Urdu language. He said that the government was giving top priority for the promotion of Urdu as the second official language of the State.

Responding to the demands made by the students unions, he assured them that he would take them up with the Chief Minister and try to sanction Rs.100 crore for development of the varsity.
