On-loan Ipswich right-back Elliott Hewitt has extended his stay at Colchester by a further month.
The versatile 20-year-old has impressed since arriving from Portman Road in October, making 20 appearances and scoring once. He will now be available for the U's next six fixtures as they bid to beat the drop from League One. Manager Tony Humes told the club's official website: "Elliott has done very well for us and gives us a different option. "I think we missed him when he was out suspended and he has been great since he's been back, including two assists in Saturday's win against Bristol City."
