Changing lifestyles have given rise to the number of people suffering from diabetes and similar lifestyle ailments. This has led to a proliferation of blood glucose level monitors in the market. These monitors pose a stiff competition to each other and cause confusion for the buyer.
LabStyle Innovations has announced Dario, an alternative with a key differentiation point – it has its own “smart meter” that replaces all the current devices by companies like Accu–Chek and One Touch.
In fact, Dario is as good as a complete solution. The meter, testing strips, and lancets are provided with the device and will sync up with an Android or iOS device automatically via an app.
It will save all your glucose readings and offer statistics, charts, and graphs so that you can see how your levels are fluctuating. It also has the provision for you to record your food and drink intake, insulin and exercise. This way, you can have a better understanding of how these factors affect your body. If you prefer using your own meter, Dario also supports manual readings. Since the app is free, this will bring the cost of the platform down to zero.
You can also set the app up to alert important contacts when your glucose levels drop too low. You will also be able to view your data on the Internet and send reports to doctors and various health professionals when the need arises.
