Notice what John says of Christ: "Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." -1 John 3:16. Jesus said: "As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep."- John 10:15. From both verses is clear that Jesus, identified as God, died for the human race, that through him man might gain life eternal. Be in harmony with God.To even put the nail on the coffin we read Paul speaking of the return of Christ saying; " Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ."- Titus 2:13.
Not to leave it without touching on the fact that Jesus is the very one who created the heavens and the earth, the very one who is from eternity: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."- John 1:1-3. It was the Father with Christ being both identified as God having the same image, that is- having the same nature, who created, and formed man; "And God said [singular], Let us [plural]make man in our image [singular], after our likeness..."- Genesis 1:26, For even Paul knew this: "God...hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person..."-Hebrews 1:1-3.
There are so vast a multitude of scripture verses in the Bible which testify of the divinity of Christ, truth which need not be a debate but by faith accepted. It is a critical truth, only the Creator can come and die for his creation which have gone astray, only God is a Savior, thus it should be no shock to you that Jesus is God himself. He is your Savior. Would you accept his love for you?
