Senior citizen dies of heart attack in express train toilet
A senior Bhayandar resident died of a heart attack near the toilet of an express train at Boisar on Sunday evening, while his aged mother and wife were in their seats, unaware of the incident.

Kirit Gandhi, 63, a resident of Dev Shrusti Building, Bhayandar (W) went to Surat with his wife, Nirmala, 58, to fetch his mother, Hiraben, 80, who was staying with Kirit’s brother, Suresh Gandhi. The couple left for Surat on Friday and were returning home by the Surat-Bandra InterCity express on Sunday evening. While returning to his seat after using the toilet, Kirit suffered a massive heart attack and fell near the vestibule of the train. Local passengers stopped the train at Boisar and alerted the Railway Police Force constable on duty who took Kirit to a Boisar hospital, where he was pronounced dead before admission.

“Kirit was a trustee of a Jain trust and a social activist in Bhayandar and did not suffer from any heart ailment,” said his relatives. A prayer meeting was held in his memory in Bhayandar on Monday, which was attended by members of the Jain community.
