HYDERABAD: Police arrested an MSc (computers) student for raping his 14-year-old niece.
The culprit was identified as Balu, 23, a student of a private college from East Maruti Nagar in Kanchanbagh. The victim is his niece from LB Nagar. On February 20, parents of the girl asked the culprit to drop her at a government residential school in Nalgonda district, where she is studying in class IX.

“However, instead of taking the girl to the school, he took her to his room in East Maruti Nagar and raped her for three consecutive days,” said Kanchanbagh inspector K Manoj Kumar.
The incident came to light on Sunday when the school authorities called up the victim’s parents to ask why the student had not reported at the school.
When the parents contacted Balu, he brought her back home saying that she did not want to go to the school.
Later, the girl told her parents what had happened and a complaint was lodged with the Kanchanbagh police on Monday. Police registered a case against Balu under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act and arrested him.
