GREATER NOIDA: The family of junior engineer Anang Pal alias Sonu, 25, who was killed when a brick fell on his head at a construction site of developer Ajnara near Bisrakh on February 10, organized a dharna at the site on Monday. Local farmers joined in the protest, halting work at two sites of the developer. They threatened to stop work on other sites if cops do not initiate action soon.
Anang Pal's family alleged police are trying to shelter the developer by invoking sections of the IPC, like negligence, that carry mild punishments. "I will continue to fight for justice," said Anag Pal's wife Sunita.
Vineet Gupta, director, Ajnara, had brushed off the allegations earlier, saying, "Ajnara has nothing to do with the accident. Anang Pal worked for sub-contractor Shah Alam, who did not follow safety norms."
"We've initiated sufficient action in the matter. We're also looking into issues raised by the family," said SHO Ashwini Kumar.
