Gerard Pique insists Barcelona's players still have faith in coach Luis Enrqiue – despite their shock home defeat to Malaga.

Barca, who take on Manchester City in the Champions League tomorrow, saw the end of an 11-match winning run with their 1-0 La Liga defeat at the Nou Camp on Saturday.

The defeat, which has left Barca four points behind leaders Real Madrid, has put Enrique's position under further scrutiny, but defender Pique claimed there was no problem with the coach.

“There is no problem between ourselves and the manager,” said Pique. “We get on fine, the relationship is good and we have just come off the back of 11 wins on the bounce.

“We don't have to worry ourselves about it [the defeat] or think about it any more. It is behind us now.

“We know what we have got to do and good results are the way to show people the team is like it was three days ago [before the defeat].

“When you lose a game you always get doubts arising, even when you have won 11 on the trot. We need a good result. It's not entering in our heads, going into this game with any but confidence.

“Fans are going to be right behind City, we have to take the fame to them. I am sure this team we have got is going to get a decent result.

“We're used to going through good moments and bad moments. If you look at it, maybe two and a half months ago things were not so good, but one defeat cannot make us doubt ourselves.

“We still have a lot of confidence in our own ability and our ability to be able to face up to the final three months of the season.”

Barca coach Enrique dismissed claims his players' minds were on the City clash when they went down to Malaga. “We didn't relax against Malaga at all,” said Enrique.

“We were well prepared. We would not have gone into a league game thinking about a Champions League match.”

Former Manchester United defender Pique said he was sure City would be competing to win the Champions League in years to come, despite not having advanced beyond the last 16 in the past four years.

“They had really bad luck I the draw,” said Pique. “Last year they had to play us, two years ago in group stage they had a difficult draw.

“We know they have a lot of quality players. In the Premier League they are showing they are one of the best teams in the world.

“I hope not this year, but in the next few years I am sure they will be fighting to win this title.”

Pique, who was pictured in a Barcelona casino with team-mate Lionel Messi and their former team-mate, Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, in the early hours of Monday, defended himself and said: "It's my private life. We just had a nice time there."
