Sushmita Mukherjee becomes Kanta dadi

Actress Sushmita Mukherjee will sport a completely different look for her character in the TV show Gangaa. She will be seen as Kanta Dadi, a widow who represents the rigidity of old customs.

She despises the free spirit of Gangaa (Ruhana Khanna), the child widow, as it mocks her own compromised identity.
Unlike the conventional dadis seen on TV, Sushmita will not be seen with streaks of grey hair, but cropped haircut to portray the role of a widow.The look has been tailor-made to accentuate not only her strong facial features, but also a highly complex character. She will also be seen wearing a rudrakshmala. She says, “It feels good to play such a powerful character after a long time. I have done various roles in the past, but this one is close to my heart. I had a wonderful time shooting with Ruhana and I am in awe of her innocence.”

Gangaa airs on March 2, Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm on new Hindi General Entertainment Channel &TV.
