No Kashmiri crosses to other side of LoC, 9 POK residents arrives

SRINAGAR : Not a single Kashmiri crossed over to Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (POK) while nine guests from across the Line of Control (LoC) arrived here this afternoon in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
Official sources told UNI that 16 returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector.
They said no resident of Kashmir crossed to other side of the LoC this week. However, two POK residents who had come here in previous bus returned to their homes. Sources said nine fresh residents of POK arrived here to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition. They included four women.
However, 14 residents of Kashmir, who had gone to POK returned to their home after completing stay across the border. They included four women and a child. The cross border service has helped thousands of divided families to meet each other after Aman bus was introduced on April 7,2005 after India and Pakistan governments agreed to allow travel of state subjects on “Travel Permits” instead of International Passports.
