MANGALURU: Puttur hobli in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 40°C on February 22 at 3pm. Huthur hobli in Kolar taluk of Kolar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 9.1°C from 6.30am to 6.45am on February 22. Both maximum and minimum temperature changed little over the state.
More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 3.5% geographical area in the state.
Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 93.8% geographical area in the state. Dry weather conditions prevailed over the state. No rainfall was recorded in any of the 2,202 gram panchayats across Karnataka.
Karnataka for period from February 17 to February 23 recorded deficit rainfall of 90%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 1.1mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 0.1mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on February 23, four geographical regions received 0mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 0.2mm, a 95% departure from the weighted-average normal.
