Cristiano Ronaldo scored in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Elche on Sunday to become Los Blancos' joint third all-time top scorer.

The 30-year-old netted his side's second goal after Karim Benzema had put Carlo Ancelotti's side ahead just before the hour mark.

Ronaldo, who was crowned World Player of the Year for the third time in his career in January, has now scored a staggering 290 goals since moving to the Bernabeu less than six years ago - the same amount as Madrid great Santillana.

Yet while it took Santillana 645 games to rack up his impressive haul, it has taken Ronaldo less than half that time to reach the same figure.

The only two players to have scored more goals for Madrid than Ronaldo are club legends Raul and Alfredo Di Stefano who netted 323 and 307 goals for Los Blancos respectively.

Madrid's victory over Elche puts them four points clear at the top of La Liga after second-placed Barcelona succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Malaga .
