    Synopsis

From keeping you updated on the stock market to alerting you about upcoming payments, there is an app for everything.

    ET Bureau
    FINANCIAL CALCULATOR
Developed by BiShinews, this app lets you calculate the time value of money so that you don’t need to use excel sheets to figure out the returns of your investments. The app includes a currency convertor function—a handy tool when you are travelling abroad. Other features include credit card pay-off calculator, credit card minimum payment calculator, return on investment calculator and various other built-in systems to calculate bond price, determine the yield-to-maturity and yield-to call on bond calculations. It also has stock calculation functions like a stock return calculator and holding period return calculator. The home loan calculator tells you the exact EMI you will need to pay on your loan. You can also check if switching your current loan to a new lender will give you a better deal. The cherry on the cake is it gives you the option of e-mailing your calculations.

This apps works in two ways. It lets you track your everyday expense, create a budget and monitor your cash flows. The budgeting can be done across categories and include grocery expenses, transportation expenses and eating out expenses, among others. You also get to see your spending patterns via graphs and pie charts and set weekly, bi-monthly and monthly budgets with various filters like income, expenditure, paid and pending. Individual expenses can be labelled across categories like work expense, private expense and the like. The app works offline, so you don’t need to be connected to the Internet all the time. You can also set alerts about upcoming and recurring payments. For security, you can make the app password protected.
