Police arrested a 27-year-old Nigerian man on charge of peddling drugs in K.R. Puram on Sunday.

Based on a tip-off, the police arrested Paul Ezenwa and recovered 5 gm of cocaine and 50 gm of marijuana from him.

According to police, Paul was living in Bengaluru without valid documents and passport for the past two years. He had come to the city on a student visa and claimed that the Hoskote police seized his passport a few months ago after he was booked in an attempt-to-murder case.

During interrogation, the police claimed that Paul had confessed to having procured drugs from his contacts in Goa and Bengaluru and was selling it here.

He has been remanded in judicial custody.

Chain-snatching

Two women were robbed of their gold chains in separate incidents reported from Hanumanth Nagar and Chandra Layout on Sunday.

In another incident, two men on a motorcycle tried to snatch 57-year-old Shanthamma’s chain in Chandra Layout. She put up a fight and the duo managed to grab a part of her chain and sped away. Both cases have been registered.
