LUDHIANA: Cyclists from the city came together for a Sunday ride, cricket, singing and games. Vinay Dhir, the coordinator, said they gathered in Sarabha Nagar market and headed towards Birmi village, through PAU, where they helped themselves to lassi.
Then they moved to Bains village, Ayali Kalan, where they stopped at a farmhouse. "We played cricket and soccer in the farmhouse.
Everyone enjoyed cricket in the backdrop of the World Cup fever," said Yuvraj, a businessman from Gurdev Nagar.
Rajan, a businessman from Agar Nagar, said they covered more than 35 kilometers and were all very excited as it was their first such ride. "We enjoyed snacks, fruits and juices at the farmhouse. It was fun," he said. Harminder Bassi, an industrialist from Sarabha Nagar, who hosted the get-together of the cyclists at his farmhouse said, "It was a great day as all of us played so many games. This Sunday is really memorable. I am thankful to all the members for the lovely ride and the visit."
Rinku Garg, a businessman from Gara Nagar said he has been riding alone so far and embarked on such a long ride for the first time. "I could not believe I could ride so much but the track was beautiful and cycling among the fields was awesome," he said.
Abhishek, who joined the long ride for the first time, said he was tired at one point but after the invigorating stay at the farmhouse, he was completely relaxed. "The members enjoyed singing together. The group comprised Shiv Ram Saroy, a social worker, Kartik, Pankaj Dhir, Rajbir, Jagdeep Singh, Sameer Chawla and Ashok Jain, who stole the show with their melodious voices," said Rohit Sareen.
