Court directs rape accused not to enter village
MARGAO: South Goa additional sessions court judge P V Sawaikar imposed a condition against 34-yr-old accused Chetan Rajaram Bandodkar, who is charged for allegedly raping a woman, not to enter a village till the evidence of the survivor is recorded by the court.
The judge passed the order on an application filed by public prosecutor Subhash Dessai under Section 439 (ii) of Cr PC seeking the cancellation of the conditional anticipatory bail that had been granted to the accused by the South Goa additional sessions court judge Vandana Tendulkar on April 4, 2014.

Dessai pointed out that the accused Bandodkar had violated his anticipatory bail conditions.
“After the bail was granted, the accused had abused the victim and also threatened her with dire consequences, if she did not withdraw her complaint registered against him. Many complaints have been filed in this regard against Bandodkar at the Curchorem police station,” remarked Dessai.
But, Bandodkar’s lawyer, A Prabhudessai denied any violations had been committed by his client.
In the complaint registered on March 24, 2014, the survivor alleged that the accused raped her on several occasions. As a consequence, she became pregnant and he forced her to abort.
The complaint further states that the accused took her to a hospital in Ponda and without her consent, aborted her pregnancy in July 2012. An offence was registered under Sections 376, 313, 323, 504, 506 (ii)
IPC and the accused was
arrested.
