Inaugurating office of the women’s wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal in the city on Sunday, Bholath MLA and women’s wing incharge Bibi Jagir Kaur termed the SAD a party of the common man.

Asked about the debacle of the SAD and BJP in the recent Delhi Assembly polls, Kaur said, “SAD is a party of the common man. Therefore, there is no question of any threat, that too from a new and recently formed party called Aam Aadmi Party which has no base in Punjab.”

Kaur said that the Congress was the only visible competitor of the SAD in Punjab, but now it had also lost its base in the state. “Congress is finished and now there is no opposition in Punjab. In the coming 2017 Assembly polls, we will contest polls on agenda of development and the work we did. We have no tough contest either from Congress or AAP,” she said.
