Deer knocked dead by mini truck

Chandrapur: A deer was killed in hit-and-run case on Chandrapur-Mul road, on Saturday evening.
A speeding mini truck reportedly rammed the deer while it was crossing the road. The animal was killed instantly in the mishap, while the vehicle driver fled the spot.
Vehicular traffic was affected for some time as the carcass was lying on the road. A team of officials from FDCM Chandrapur immediately reached the spot and removed the body to clear the traffic.
An offence has been registered against the unidentified truck driver. Post mortem would be carried out on Sunday.
