A local court on Saturday granted custody of Deccan Chronicle Holding Ltd (DCHL) promoters to the CBI for five days beginning Monday. The promoters—T Venkattram Reddy, chairman, and T Vinayak Ravi Reddy, MD—currently in judicial custody, were arrested in an alleged loan fraud case on February 14, based on a complaint by Canara Bank.

While granting police custody, the 14th additional chief metropolitan magistrate refused CBI’s request to allow them to take the accused to Bengaluru for interrogation. The CBI had asked for 14-day custody for interrogation while alleging that the accused were not cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
