Minister zeroes in on Siddhartha Medical College

Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Friday said that a super-speciality hospital would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.150 crore on the Siddhartha Medical College premises in the city.

Speaking to media persons here, the Minister said the 240-bed hospital would be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. Of the Rs.150 crore needed for the hospital, the Central government would allocate Rs.120 crore, while the rest would be borne by the State government.

The six-storied hospital would house eight super speciality medical wings along with centralised air-conditioned. State of the art medical facilities would be provided in all the eight departments. The government was taking necessary measures to set up e-Arogya Seva centres to ensure quality medical treatment, he said.

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas, who accompanied the Minister, said that he would extend necessary support in improving amenities at the Siddhartha Medical College .

Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan Rao and others were also present on the occasion, said a press release.
