Metro Rail crossing works to affect train services today

Train services in city will be affected due to Metro Rail crossing works on Saturday, between 12.15 p.m. and 3.15 p.m., what with a traffic block to be imposed on train movement between Bharatnagar and Sanathnagar stations.

This will lead to cancellation/partial cancellation and re-scheduling of several train services including MMTS services. Consequently, all 20 MMTS services to and from Lingampalli stand cancelled. Also, no. 47185 Lingampalli-Falaknuma MMTS and no. 47115 Hyderabad-Lingampalli are cancelled. Four passenger trains including no. 57606 Vikarabad-Kacheguda, nos. 57518/57517 Tandur-Hyderabad-Tandur and no. 57605 Secunderabad-Vikarabad are also cancelled for Saturday.

No. 47200 Falaknuma-Hyderabad MMTS will be partially cancelled between Secunderabad and Hyderabad and no.12025/12026 Pune-Secunderabad-Pune Shatabdi Express too will be partially cancelled between Lingampalli and Secunderabad and these trains will terminate and originate from Lingampalli instead of Secunderabad, as per scheduled timings at Lingampalli. No. 12748 Vikarabad-Guntur Palanadu Express that leaves Vikarabad at 1.45 p.m. is re-scheduled to depart at 2.30 p.m., a press release said.

Meanwhile, the Additional Director General of Police, (Railways & Road Safety), Telangana State, on Friday said security on board trains of the Multi-Modal Transit Service (MMTS) would be given priority in coordination with the Railway Protection Force.

The police officer called on General Manager, South Central Railway, P. K. Srivastava and held discussions on several security-related issues including tightening of security across the railway network, having more Government Railway Police (GRP) posts in the Zone and strengthening GRP escorts on trains identified as vulnerable.
