Loot attempt: Rice firm cashier badly hurt after being shot at

Karnal: Two motorcycle-borne men fired at cashier of a rice shelling company in an attempt to snatch the money bag which he was carrying on Friday in Karnal. Ajay, who works for Best Food Company, suffered two bullet injuries when the assailants opened fire at him near Baldi chowk.
The criminals were wearing helmets and intercepted Ajay riding in a car with two other employees Gurnam and Rinku.Ajay had just withdrawn Rs 25 lakh from a bank branch nearby.
The cashier was seriously injured in the incident and rushed to Kalpna Chawla Medical College and Hospital from where he was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh.
Both attackers fled from the scene after firing at the car. Police said a case of attempt to murder had been registered against unidentified persons and the matter was being investigated.
