Hundreds of devotees attended for the first ever Jagannath Ratha Yatra of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) conducted in Srikakulam on Monday. Idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra were taken out in a procession covering all important junctions including 7-Road, Palakonda Road, Day and Night Junction, Ramalaxmana Junction and GT Road. ISKCON's project director Satya Gpinath Das, Srinivas of Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum and others participated in the procession.

ISKCON, Harekrishna Charitable Trust and other religious organisations conducted ‘Tulasi Puja’, ‘Gopuja’, ‘Kalasabhisekha Seva’ and ‘Deepa Seva’ for the last four days seeking the divine’s blessing for the district.

ISKCON has also decided to build Krishna temple to provide an opportunity for devotees to offer their prayers.
