BHIWANDI-NIZAMPUR: Twenty-six
students living at a hostel run by a trust in
Bhiwandi fell
sick on Friday after drinking
water that might have been contaminated.
Of the 26 taken
ill, 13 students were said to be out of danger while 11 remained admitted in the government-run Indira Gandhi Hospital in Bhiwandi and two were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Thane in a serious condition.
Jagganath Jadhav, supritendent of the hostel run by the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Trust, said the children had been drinking borewell water as the purification machine at the hostel was not working.
