5-day pulse polio drive to be held from February 22

District Immunisation Officer Dr Manjit Singh said that this drive would be carried out in all parts of Ludhiana district.

Dr Renu directed all the staff concerned to make sure all brick kilns, slum areas, bus stand and other such places were covered during the drive. She said that a total of 5,54,824 children falling in the age group of 0-5 from urban and rural areas of Ludhiana district would be covered during the drive. She said that out of the total children to be covered under the drive, 2,91,617 reside in urban areas while the remaining 2,63,207 reside in rural areas of the Ludhiana district.

She said for covering these areas a total of 698 booths, 379 sub-booths, 1,358 teams for door-to-door immunisation of children, 119 transit teams and 83 mobile teams had been set up. As many as 474 supervisors had also been appointed.
