Zachary Quinto: Oliver Stone Isn't Afraid To Be Controversial With Upcoming Edward Snowden Film

Earlier this month it was announced that Hollywood will adapt the Oscar-nominated documentary "Citizenfour" into a major motion picture, with Oliver Stone directing and Zachary Quinto playing Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who worked with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden to reveal the breadth of United States surveillance programs.

While Quinto wasn't at liberty to reveal much about the project in a Thursday conversation with HuffPost Live, he did express strong emotions about his feelings for Stone, as well as the story.

"Snowden is a fascinating, dynamic character, and I'm really excited to go work on that for a while," he told host Josh Zepps. "Oliver Stone's directing it, and I can't think of anybody who would have a point of view on that world more than he."

The actor said he's excited to work with an "iconoclast" director who loves "the idea of exploring and ... not being afraid to be controversial." As for where Quinto stands on Edward Snowden's story, his feelings are constantly evolving. He explained:

"When it happened, I was certainly aware of what it represents, but I think as I get to know more and read more, it's an endless maze of conflict and internal struggle and fighting for what's right or what's believed to be right. It's a lot of stuff going on. I think I'll have a much clearer take on it once I'm through this process [of filming], but I'm now just gathering as much information as I can and learning as much as I can about it."
