MBBS students' plea has been accepted by the High Court
High court orders bring relief to MBBS students

Three MBBS students of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University had sought justice through their own way of fighting the battle against failure. The High Court ordered the university to review and re-publish the results of the August 2014 examination in which the students were declared failed. The result should be published within three weeks. The court also directed the university to permit those students to continue their second year course with their batch mates.
M. Sathish Kumar with other two classmates filed a writ petition asking for permission to continue their course. They joined the MBBS course for the session 2011-2012 and were declared failed in most of the subjects. In fact they were failed in supplementary examination held in February 2013. Justice T.S Sivagnanam granted them relief by ordering the authorities as per their benefit.
Previously, the students refused to accept the university's notification and insisted on re-evaluation of their papers and calculating the average marks. They believed that while applying by the MCI regulations, they will be declared passed.
After scrutinising the petition, Mr.Justice Sivagnanam said that the notification had already been rejected. The authorities were said to have conducted re-evaluation and published the results on August 18, 2013 which is said to be mistaken. The order has been accepted by the university.
The petitioners lost almost one month in enrolling in the second year of MBBS owing to the misunderstanding of the results will get published. Because university took its time to follow the court decisions, it cannot stop the students from pursuing the exams with their batch.
