Endosulfan victims to take out march

February 20, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - KASARAGOD:

The Endosulfan Peeditha Munnani (EPM) will take out a march to the collectorate on February 21. It claimed that the government had failed to fulfil its assurance that the issues faced by the endosulfan victims in the district would be resolved by March last year.

Compensation

The government had not taken steps to disburse the instalment of the National Human Rights Commission-recommended compensation to eligible victims on time.

The government had deceived the kin of victims by assuring them to write off the loans taken for meeting medical expenses, EPM secretary Ambalathara Kunhikrishnan said.

Social, political, and cultural leaders would address a public function organised as part of the march, he said.
