MTHUNZI, MAQHAWE BACK TO HAUNT CITY

MBABANE – Tonight Midas City will be haunted by the ‘ghosts’  of two former players, marauding utility forward  Mthunzi ‘Xavi’ Mkhontfo and no nonsense defender Maqhawe Dlamini when they meet SwaziBank Cup defending champions Royal Leopard.

It is a do or die clash for both teams in the start of the last-16 round games of the lucrative knockout competition, with Leopard not looking to be upset by the National First Division side.
That would risk further humiliation for the Premier League giants who recently received a 3-0 bashing away to South Africa’s Wits University in a continental competition.

This game presents itself as a high mountain to climb for City, who are capable of bringing giants to their knees, especially because Leopard have been upgrading themselves in recent weeks.

They have to deal with the pace of Mkhontfo and company upfront, and try to beat the resolute defence of the police outfit.
While there is history between the two sides, it will be supposed by the battle of siblings, one having already made his name while the other tries to follow in his footsteps, but out of his shadow.

Khetha Mkhontfo, younger brother to Mthunzi, will be looking to inspire City to victory and shine in the process.
He has been performing well for his brother’s former team, scoring goals almost rapidly, linking up well with Sidumo Dlamini who has found a new lease in life as he attempts to resurrect his promising career.
