Vivekananda's messages to guide GP members, youths

As part of Ramakrisha %temple's decennial celebrations, the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram will organize special programmes spanning over three days at the Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangha's auditorium in Dharwad, starting Saturday.

DHARWAD: As part of Ramakrisha %temple's decennial celebrations, the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram will organize special programmes spanning over three days at the Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangha's auditorium in Dharwad, starting Saturday.
Swami Vijayananda Saraswati, the head of the ashram, said the programmes on all three days have been designed based on the teachings and messages of Swami Vivekananda and will cater to the needs of gram panchayat members and officials, youths and spiritual seekers.

On Saturday, a convention of gram panchayat members and officials will be conducted to sensitize them about the projects launched by the state and central governments for the development and empowerment of villages. Minister for rural development and panchayat raj HK Patil will inaugurate this conference at 9.30am.
DR Patil, former MLA of Gadag, and R Balasubramaniam, founder of the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, Mysuru, will deliver talks on the 'Role of Gram Panchayats in the Development of Villages' and 'Swami Vivekananda's Thoughts on Rural Development', respectively. Balasubramanium will also deliver a talk on 'Swami Vivekananda's Message for the Empowerment of Society' at the ashram at 5pm.
A youth conference will be held on Sunday to guide youngsters towards the right path and achieve progress by inculcating the noble qualities of Indian cultures, spirituality and religions.
Karnataka State Law University vice-chancellor TR Subramanya will deliver a talk on the 'Role of Values in Personality Development'. Mangalore Ramakrishna Ashram president Swami Jitakamananda will deliver a talk on 'Sri Ramakrishna's Thoughts on Life and Spirituality' at 5pm.
The celebrations will conclude with a devotees' conference on Monday.
